Google provides $3 million to help pre-weatherize and repair Carolina homes
In North Carolina and South Carolina, Google has worked with SolSystems to provide over $3 million in funding to community organizations that enable pre-weatherization and safety upgrades to low- and moderate-income (LMI) households. These services, such as removing asbestos and repairing leaky roofs, are costly and often not covered by existing rebate and financial assistance programs. By providing funding to community organizations, we help families improve the livability of their homes while providing health benefits and lowering their utility bills. This paves the way for them to qualify for additional energy efficiency upgrades that lock in energy savings long-term.
Four regional organizations receive funding from our collaboration with SolSystems: Roanoke Electric Cooperative, Santee Electric Cooperative, Aiken Electric Cooperative, and the Sustainability Institute of South Carolina.
