Google contributes $1 million to support Indiana’s Energy Saver Program
In early 2025, Google contributed $1 million to the Indiana Office of Energy Development (IOED) to support pre-weatherization in homes through the state’s Energy Saver Program. The first project is collaborating with Vincent Village, an affordable housing group that will use $20,000 of the funding to bring six homes up to code.
Working together with IOED, Google is helping bring relief to households that are suffering from high bills by paying for critical health and safety repairs and pre-weatherization upgrades. In addition to lowering bills, these programs have the added benefits of creating good local jobs and reducing strain on the electric grid, particularly during peak times and weather emergencies.
Suzanne Jaworowski, Indiana Secretary of Energy and Natural Resources, praised this collaboration. "We need extraordinary allies such as Google who are committed to investing in Indiana's communities through programs like the Indiana Energy Saver Program,” she said. “Energy efficiency is an essential component to Governor Braun's all-of-the-above energy strategy to advance affordable and reliable energy solutions."
