Google announces initiative to boost Texas electrician workforce

New energy and data center investments create significant demand for electrical jobs. Today, electrical training ALLIANCE (etA), with funding from Google.org's AI Opportunity Fund, will boost the number of apprentices in Texas, as well as integrate AI tools into the training curriculum. The initiative will train existing electrical workers and more than 1,700 apprentices in the state by 2030. This will strengthen Texas’ workforce, economy, and technological infrastructure and increase the projected pipeline of new electricians in the Lone Star State by nearly 110%.

This announcement builds on the funding Google has provided to local organizations that have trained more than 1 million residents in digital skills.
