A short drive from Washington, D.C., Northern Virginia is home to two of our
data center communities. Since 2019, we’ve provided local residents with
full-time and contractor jobs, and we’ve invested in community initiatives.
Together, our Northern Virginia data center communities are growing sustainably
and creating a better internet for everyone.

Established in Virginia
2009
Google has proudly called Virginia home since 2009. Since then, we've built an office in Reston and data centers in Loudoun and Prince William Counties.
As a Google Data Center construction lead, Mallika (at right with her dog Tooley) oversees risks, people, and plans as they pertain to construction. She's involved in multiple initiatives that focus on workforce development training, mental health awareness initiatives for construction workers, and empowering women and other underinvested communities.
“I love challenges and variety. I get bored doing the same thing over and over. Because each construction project is so unique, it allows me to exercise my skills and access variety.”
